my new antique store find. i found it tucked away in a corner covered by some stuff. i don't even know how i saw it because it was almost completely hidden. it's in perfect condition with the original battery still working. i'm going to get some film for it this weekend as well as another pack of impossible project film for my sx-70. i haven't really been shooting lately but maybe this new camera purchase will inspire me to get out there and shoot.

i bought an sx-70 this weekend! i've wanted this camera for years, but i havn't been able to buy one because i've been traveling. now that i'm settled and have a job again, i decided to finally buy one. i even bought 2 packs of tz artistic from the impossible project a few years ago so that i could have some film for it once i finally got one. i got really impatient a few months ago and shot them with my sx-70 one step and a borrowed sx-70.

i bought some PX 70 color shade push! from a&a studios | the vintage photo shop this weekend, and took a test shot to see what this camera and film were all about. i read countless flickr threads and tutorials on how to use the push! film, and this is what i did:

i put the pencils in front of a big bright window and then put a lamp on either side of them(this film needs lots of light).

i set the lighten/darken wheel all the way to lighten, took the shot using a darkslide to cover the photo as it came out, and then ran to the bathroom to heat the photo with a hairdryer for 30 seconds. then, i put it under my armpit to develop for 5 minutes. the first photo was scanned about an hour after i took the shot and the second photo was scanned 2 days later. the crystals and really pink hues went away after a few days, and i'm pretty happy with my first shot using my beautiful new camera.

i spent my last day of 2011 taking photos of my friend and walking along lake michigan. i havn't been to the lake since the first day i moved here in september. the second polaroid was supposed to be a self portrait but i forgot to push the self timer button.

i took advantage of this 52 degree sunny day by walking around the neighborhood and shooting some polaroids. i also went into a little thrift store and got this camera for $7.00! of course, when i got home to test it, it wasn't working but i'll take a broken beautiful camera for that cheap any day.

i rescanned this polaroid after 2 years because the colors have shifted over time. it's a little more soft and subtle now. this is the first polaroid i ever took as an adult. it was right after polaroid stopped making film. my friend ryan and i decided to play hooky and go to the jersey shore to take some photos on the empty boardwalk. i bought a pack from a little camera store and ryan let me use his polaroid camera for the day. after that, i was hooked. i bought as much polaroid film as i could find, and i've been hoarding it in my fridge ever since. i've got about 6 packs left and when they're gone, they're gone forever.

this is my second attempt at soaking my film in lemon juice before shooting it. the first time i only soaked it for two hours, but this last time i soaked it overnight. the damage is much more noticeable this time.

i've had my pinholga for a few years, but i never got the opportunity to use it until last month. i got a few underexposed shots but some came out nice even though i just guessed the exposure times. that's me behind the curtain in the left corner of the picture. i love our kitchen window. it has made an appearance in a lot of my photos lately.

i bought an olympus xa2 from the vintage camera shop last week. i just shot my first roll and i'm so happy with it! it's a tiny little camera with a great lens and it's really sturdy. it fits right in my pocket so i don't have to dig through my purse to find it when i want to take a quick shot.

i found a roll of film from panama and costa rica while i was organizing my negatives last night. this roll has some of my favorite shots from the trip, and i didn't even remember that it existed until i found it 2 months after i had gotten it developed. i haven't really been happy with my white slim angel shots, but i think this camera/film combo goes together perfectly on a cloudy day.

buying my sister a holga 135bc for her birthday has made me pull out my 35mm adaptor for my holga. i've had it for over a year, and i don't think i've ever used it. i remember getting it and being bummed because it didn't expose the sprocket holes like i thought it would. (little did i know that i could just do it myself)
i also just got a fisheye lens for my holga, so i've been shooting with that as well. now i don't have to bring as many cameras with me to costa rica because i have 3 cameras in one.
